Spring Break

Sunday, March 18, 2018
This Spring Break my husband went out of town for business, so Mason and I headed to Corpus to spend some time with his Nana for part of his Spring Break.
The first fun thing we did was go to the circus with all of the cousins. They all had a blast together. I love getting to see them enjoy each other's company.

Our Spring Break

Monday, April 3, 2017
Last week we had our Spring Break fun a week after everyone else. Less crowded for the win! My husband took Mason fishing at the little lake in our neighborhood. He enjoyed it but has a very short attention span for fishing.

Tennessee 2015

Tuesday, March 17, 2015
Most spring breaks consist of warm weather, sand, and a beach! We decided to the exact opposite and head to Tennessee for the week. My husband and I went there in September of 2009. We loved and knew that we would someday bring my husband's kids with us. Little did we know we would also be bringing our own kiddo. This time of year the weather is definitely a lot cooler and wet than when we went during the summer. Nonetheless, we had fun and really enjoyed showing them around. On our to-do's were:

These were all new to my husband and I, except Cade's Cove.

 The mountain views are phenomenal.

Mason was not a fan of bears.

This was not there 6 years ago, but it and a boardwalk area are now there.

The week prior to us going there was a pretty severe ice storm there. There was still some ice and snow remaining. Some of the ice was melting and the river was rushing.

The Titanic replica was being built 6 years ago, so this was a must on my husband and I's list of to-do's. It was great and so educational!

Ripley's Aquarium was another one of our stops. Always makes for a good time with kiddos.

The city lights of Gatlinburg, TN.

Cade's Cove where you are always guaranteed to see deer, foxes, or bears.

While we had fun and were grateful to be able to take the kids to TN, it will be awhile before we return.

Our Week...3.16.15

Monday, March 16, 2015
It's back to the grind this week, but this past week was full of much needed relaxation, fun, and family time. We took a 13 hour drive to Tennessee, and while the drive was long it was a nice. The last time we went to Tennessee was five and half years ago and it was during the summer, and we had no kids. This time it was winter and we took the kids. We had so much fun then, that we hoped to share it with the kids someday so that is why we decided to go here again. Here are some pics of our wonderful week. More pics to come later tonight, or later this week!

We don't have trees like this in Texas.

Watching movies on our long drive. We only saw Planes and Planes: Fire and Rescue 500 times! It's the only movie he'll watch.

Playing with his giraffe.

Playing peek-a-boo with his book!

We arrived late on Monday night, so I couldn't take a pic, but I captured this glorious view on Tuesday morning.

Eating his snacks!

Riding the ferris wheel and loving these views!

Eating out and playing with crayons!

Exhausted after a long day! This is pretty much how our day ended every day!

He loved walking everywhere. I don't blame him. Sitting in his car seat and then his stroller often was a bit much!

Eating at Bubba Gump!

Watching The Lumberjack Feud!

Hanging out in our matching pj's!
Love those bear cheeks!

Adios, Tennessee!

Saying "Hi" to the cars and trucks we drove by.

While we were gone we received a slide that my husband had ordered for Mason, so daddy put it together!
Watching and waiting while daddy puts his slide together!
He loved it. In fact, he did not want to come back inside!

Where Does the Time Go?!

Monday, April 18, 2011
When it comes to updating my blog, I have been an absolute slacker.  Rest assured though, that the rest of my life has not consisted of any slacking. Below are some updates of the happenings within the past 5 months!

November 2010
The highlight of November was spending the week of Thanksgiving in Corpus with the family.  As usual, we had a ton of fun and tons of good food.

While we were there, we went to a Quinceanera that my brother stood up in.  It's hard to believe that I was his age once.  That I had the same teenage mentality once before.  You know invincible, know-it-all, and worry-free.

On November 30, we also put our Christmas tree up and set out our Christmas deco's!

December 2010
This month was Josh's 7th birthday, Christmas break, Alex's birthday, and Jesus' birthday.

During Christmas break we went to the HEARD Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Santuary.  It was late December and it was a whopping 80-something degrees outside.  So not winter like weather, but we had fun.

A couple of days before Christmas we cooked up some good desserts and baked some yummy cookies to leave for Santa.

Santa left a ton of fun gifts for everyone!

January 2011
All was quiet on the front in January.  We did manage to make to Elaine's basketball game.  Even though they lost, we had a good time watching them play.

GO UNICORNS!!

February 2011
Oh the month to celebrate All Saints Day, and snow and ice! We had an insane amount of snow this month and not to mention the 5 consecutive days of ice.

March 2011
During this month, every year, schools have this little thing called spring break! Josh spent his spring break up here and we went to the Science and Technology Center, the Arboretum, the Fort Worth Zoo, and Jeff took him to play some minature golf.

That's about the end of my recap! As for what's going on now, we are going to Corpus this weekend to spend 4 days with the family. I can't wait to see them all. It's been 4 months too long!
