Father's Day

Sunday, June 17, 2018

It's Father's Day, and although I don't celebrate my own father, I celebrate my husband and I'm thankful to have had an uncle who was like a father to me growing up. He was the uncle that went with me to father-daughter events even when he didn't have to.
I've always made it a point to celebrate Father's Day for my husband, especially after having a little one of our own.

Our Week...6.21.16

Monday, June 20, 2016
This past week was easy, breezy! Maybe not so breezy, but really hot! We're trying to stay as cool as possible and only enjoying time at the park in the evenings. This past weekend was Father's Day and made the most out of the day and to make our main guy feel super special.

6th swimming lesson. He's doing much better but still refuses to kick his legs in the water.

My guys heading out to Donuts with Dad. It was also take your dino for show and tell.

Snack time.

He was in awe of this ladybug that landed on his slide.

Our Father's Day lunch was at this cool new pizza joint just down the road from us. It was pretty tasty. I loved the rustic environment.
Winding down on Father's Day at the park.

Happy Week, y'all!

Father's Day Gift Ideas

Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Father's Day is only 4 days away! To be honest, this one snuck up on me. I've been so focused on my new fitness journey that time just slipped by me. I did get my husband something, but it probably won't be here on time! Hey, but I did get a card that will definitely be available on Father's Day, and of course we'll have a nice steak and potatoes meal. My husband is a true steak and potatoes man from the Mid-West! I think I may even stop by Nothing Bundt Cakes and pick up a Chocolatey Chocolate Chip cake. So yummy! Too bad I won't be able to partake in it, but my husband will love it and so will Mason ;)

I put together a little Father's Day gift guide to help people like me who are very much procrastinators. My husband has a few of these things already that he loves so I figured what other dad wouldn't. Links for each item are below

Yeti Cooler  $299-$399 - This cooler is the coolest thing! We have a bigger, heavier Yeti and it is amazing. Their drink ware is also amazing. If you haven't tried one your missing out. Just like the drink ware, our cooler keeps ice frozen for days. I like this hooper cooler because you use it more on the go. It would be perfect for those 4th of July fireworks that everyone goes to watch. Throw some ice and drinks in it, grab and go. Perfect and convenient! You are guaranteed to have some ice cold drinks too.

Yeti Rambler Colster $29.99 - This is one of my husband's faves. He loves and appreciates a really cold beer like no-one I've ever known before. This keeps his beer super cold and he never complains about it getting warm (it might also be because he drinks them faster than they can get warm), but I'm a sipper and I can attest to this thing keeping my sodas cold.

Cornhole King T-shirt $14.99 - My husband loves a good game of cornhole. A few years ago we had Texas Rangers custom cornhole boards made and we have taken those boards everywhere. We take them with us to family reunions and get togethers. Everyone always enjoys a fun, friendly, competitive game. I thought this shirt would be perfect for him for our next get-together! I found this on on groupon, so HURRY they are only on their for a limited time.

Bose Wireless Headphones $149.95 - This is another item that my husband already has, but again he uses them all of the time. He uses them when he runs, during workouts, or when he cuts the lawn. Any active guy would love these, and the fact their wireless.

Bose Wireless Speaker $269.95 SALE - This is a DEAL! Again, my husband has this wireless speaker and uses it all of the time. We also use it for get-togethers and family reunions. The battery life is about 8-10 hours. We usually use it all day and then charge it at night. It's has the capability to get pretty loud and it has great sound.

Nixon Watch $500 - This would be splurge item for us, as my husband already has a very nice Burberry Sport watch that he got as an anniversary gift a few years ago. It is very similar to this one. I think its perfect for dressing up or down with.

Don't forget about those special father's/protectors/superhero's in our life! Tell them how much you love and appreciate what they do for you and your family. A little thank you goes a long way! Lift him up in encouragement and appreciation! I know we'll be celebrating my main man all day long! He really does deserve some mad appreciation for all that he does for our family!

First Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my husband, the father of our son! You are the best daddy that I know! You light up Mason's world and the smile that he gives you every time you walk into the room makes my heart melt! Mason sure does love his daddy and I love you for being a wonderful husband and dad!

My homemade card! I definitely could have done a much better job!

This what he wanted for father's day...a BOB jogging stroller!

Happy Father's Day to all of the awesome daddy's!

Father's Day

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

This past Father's Day we celebrate all of those important fathers, most importantly (to me)my husband.  I am grateful that my husband is such a great father to his children, despite all of the obstacles he faces with them living so far away.  It's comforting to know that when we decide to have children of our own, he will be an even better father.  I also celebrate one of my uncles...Joe! He has always been the father figure that I needed in my life.  Thank you for being so supportive and for going with me to those father-daughter events.  You are more of a father to me than you'll ever know!

We decided to spend the day at Lake Lewisville with friends, kids, fun, and good food.  Our plans for the day were: spending the day at the lake and later go out onto the lake in a pontoon boat.

Before we went to the lake the kiddos gave Jeff the Father's Day cards that they chose and his gift, that I chose.  They chose those fancy new cards where you can record your own personal message and that they did!

Jeff had been wanting Nike Shox, so I thought that this was the perfect opportunity to purchase a pair for him.

Jeff and I enjoying the sun and good company.

Vick and his wife Adrienne.

Some of the group: Sina, Cesar, and Maria.

The kiddos really enjoyed spending time in the lake.  I managed to get in the water, just once, and I was extremely grossed out with how the bottom of the lake felt against my feet.
Oh, what it's like to be kid.  I can remember going to Lake Mathis quite often, but I most certainly do not remember the bottom of it feeling so gross.  Children are so oblivious to these type of things...gotta love them!

Gotta love this silly girl! Arm floats on her ankles...creative!

We all kind of felt like this by about 4:00 P.M., or perhaps he was so tired from lack of sleep, due him being up all night long...teenagers!

Despite us all feeling exhausted and burnt out, we headed to a local boat rental company to ride away in the pontoon.  Unfortunately our boat, the boat we had rented for 4 hours, was anchored somewhere in Lake Lewisville and unable to make it back to shore in time.  We waited patiently for about an hour and decided it was time to give it up.  Needless to say, we were not very happy; however, we went home, showered, and had a great dinner at Johnny Carino's!  I'm thankful that we had such a wonderful day with a few great fathers! Until next time, Lake Lewisville!
