39 Weeks

Wednesday, November 6, 2013

How Far Along: 39 weeks
Size of Baby: watermelon
Weight Gain: 30 lbs
Gender: Baby Cole is a BOY!
Maternity Clothes: Mostly wearing maternity with a few regular shirts still. I have one pair of Gap maternity shorts and jeans, 7 maternity shirts, a dress, and leggings.
Belly Button: Out
Symptoms: Some swelling in feet and hands. Can't wear wedding rings anymore! Carpal tunnel is getting worse.

Cravings: No real cravings at this point.
Sleep: Still waking up 1-2 times a night to use the restroom. Hips still cramping up while sleeping and still uncomfortable to move around at night.
What I miss: Still missing cold sandwiches and an occasional apple cider!
Movement: Lots of movements still noticed during the day, especially after eating. Some movements at night, but nothing that wakes me up. It's definitely awkward, but so surreal, to feel you flip around in mommy's tummy. It is so amazing and your daddy thinks it's so cool! At this point, there definitely has got to be very little room in my belly for you.
Best Moments of the Week: My official last day of work, for maternity leave, was last Friday. I had quite a bit of things to do before we welcome you into the work. On Monday, I had a test to take for
school and i had a breastfeeding class that evening. Yesterday and today,  I had hair appointments. My mom flew in today and daddy went to pick her up from the airport, since mom was getting her hair cut off. I decided to do a drastic change...short!
On Tuesday night daddy and I went on our last date night....for a little while.
Well baby boy, we made it this far in this journey and tomorrow we finally get to meet you! I am overwhelmed with emotions: happy, excited, scared, thankful
Happy and excited because I finally get to meet you after 39 weeks.
Scared because I am going to be a mom to a little being that will solely rely on me to care for him, raise him, and love him, but I wouldn't change it for the world! I know it sounds cliche, but I love you so much already and I haven't even met you yet!
Thankful that this pregnancy was easier than I could have thought possible, and that you are going to be a healthy and big baby boy!

Finally got my chalkboard out!
How Far Along: 37 weeks, 4 days
Size of Baby: winter melon
Weight Gain: 27 lbs

Belly Button: Out
Symptoms: Some swelling in feet and hands. Can't wear wedding rings anymore! Carpal tunnel is getting worse.

At this point, there definitely has got to be very little room in my belly for you.
Best Moments of the Week: Yea! You are officially full term! We made it this far!

On Tuesday, mommy had a baby care basics class that she went to without daddy because he had to work. Since I'm a pediatric nurse, I was pretty sure I knew most of what was going to be discussed, and I did but it was still informative.
This week, daddy put up one of the final and main touches in your room and I love how it turned out!
On Friday, I had another doctors appointment. This time we did another sono to check on your size. Daddy was there and we were both kind of surprised when they said that you could possibly be up to 9 pounds by the time you hit 40 weeks. You are currently 7 pounds, 10 ounces and at the 75th percentile. So, I will be having a c-section and it will be scheduled at 39 weeks, on November 7, unless you decide to come before then. We'll wait and see! I worked half a day on Friday, and my co-workers had a mini-shower for me and two other girls that are also pregnant at work. I thought it was so kind and thoughtful of them!

Mommy was washing all of your clothes and blankets and Max thought they were nice and comfy! Silly dog!

36 Weeks

Sunday, October 20, 2013

How Far Along: 36 weeks, 4 days
Size of Baby: Honeydew
Weight Gain: 27 lbs
Gender: Baby Cole is a BOY!
Maternity Clothes: Mostly wearing maternity, with a few regular shirts still. I still only have one pair of maternity shorts, 6 maternity shirts and a dress. I bought a pair of Gap maternity jeans since the weather is getting much cooler. Added another shirt and finally added leggings to my wardrobe, thanks to my mom! I also bought a Gap maternity sweater. I'm hoping that I won't have to buy anything else since I only have about 4 more weeks to go.
Belly Button: Out
Symptoms: Some swelling in feet and hands. Can't wear wedding rings anymore! Carpal tunnel has set in and the numbness is annoying.
Best Moments of the Week:  This week mommy had a test on Monday. The first day after our eventful weekend with friends and family at the Baby-Q. I passed my test, so that was great! On Saturday, mommy and daddy went to a child birth class where we learned all about the child birth process. At the end of the class we got to take a tour of the hospital where I'll have you. We also got both my bag and your bag ready just in case you decide to come early.

Sweet gifts from one of my co-workers
Lots of clothes from grandma
Lots more clothes from aunt Chayo.

How Far Along: 35 weeks, 4 days
Size of Baby: Coconut
Weight Gain: 26 lbs
Gender: Baby Cole is a BOY!
Maternity Clothes: Still mostly wearing regular clothes. I still only have one pair of maternity shorts, 6 maternity shirts and a dress. I bought a pair of Gap maternity jeans since the weather is getting much cooler.
Belly Button: Out
Symptoms: Some swelling in feet and hands. Can't wear wedding rings anymore!

Best Moments of the Week:  I had another doctor's appointment on Friday. It seems that every two weeks seems to come very quickly. This only means that you will be here soon and we cannot wait to meet you! There was nothing new at this appointment. We just listened to your heartbeat and she measured my belly, of which is still measuring two weeks larger. In a couple of weeks we'll have one last
sono to check on your size. I imagine your growing like a weed. After my doctor's appointment mommy went to pick up my mom and aunt from the airport.
On Saturday, we had our Baby-Q. Again, everything turned out great and we feel so blessed! We didn't play any games at this co-ed baby shower, because mommy thought it would be cheesy for guys to be playing baby shower games. Everyone had a good time just talking eating and playing corn hole outside. It was supposed to rain that evening, but we lucked out and it was dry! We got lots of awesome gifts that will be sure to get plenty of use.

Best Moments of the Week: This week was pretty uneventful. Mommy has been busy with school and planning a Baby-Q. We were also busy trying to finally unpack because on Saturday mommy participated in our community garage sale. It was cold, and it rained off and on. It turned out well and I made $180!

Next weekend is the Baby-Q and my mom and aunt are coming to help us throw this thing. I can't wait to see them both and to have them at our new home.

Best Moments of the Week: This week mommy finally got your bedding on your crib! I love how it turned out. I'm still waiting on one more thing that will pull it all together.

My birthday was this past Monday. I had to work, so we just went and had dinner that evening.
I also managed to decorate a little for fall/halloween.
On Thursday mommy had another doctors appointment, but there was nothing new to report.
On Saturday, mommy went and had lunch with two of her friends. We had fun catching up. Whitney's sweet baby, Riley, is super cute and entertaining.
On another note, I've been really busy with school and planning another baby shower for us and our friends in Dallas. More details to come.

Best Moments of the Week: This week daddy and Tyler put your crib together. It was a bit complicated for them, since the instructions somehow manage to miss a step...always (according to your dad). They eventually got it put together and it looks gorgeous. I can't wait to get your bedding washed so that I can put it on your crib. More pics to come of the nursery!

Best Moments of the Week: On Thursday, mommy had a doctor's appointment, and you are growing well. My belly is still measuring 2 weeks ahead. Your heart rate was 145. You currently weigh 4 lb. 3 oz. and in the 64th percentile. As of right now, you are projected to be approximately 8 pounds at birth. We'll keep watching your weight, because if you're too big mommy will have to have a c-section. It was great to see that you are growing and will be a big healthy boy. We got more pictures of you and we even see a head full of hair!

On Friday, mommy and daddy traveled to Corpus to have a baby shower down there with family and friends. The theme was bow ties and everything turned out so beautifully!

Games
What is in the bag?
(they reach in a bag and feel the items, then they have to list as many as they can on a piece of paper)
Say "Baby"
(if anyone said the word baby, they would have their bow tie pin taken away from them. the person with the most bow ties at the end of the shower wins a prize)
Toilet Paper game
(they had to guess how many squares of toilet paper my belly measured around)
How Many?
(they had to guess how many candies were in a baby bottle)
