Week 4 word: Hope


"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11


This verse is one of my favorites. I know that regardless of what our plans are for ourselves, God's plan is always bigger than ours and that he knows what is best.

Missional

"You are my friends if you do what I command." John 15:14

Week 3 word: Missional

1. Accept the title
2. Consistently be creative, intentional, and spontaneous
3. Pray

When we walked into church today we all had a domino sitting on our chair and of course we wondered what purpose it served.  Just before the service was over, it was explained that we were to write down the names of people of whom we wanted to pray for. So, I did just that. I prayed for 6 people. 

Generosity

"You are my friends if you do what I command." John 15:14

This week the word is: Generosity

1. Owner vs. Steward
2. Obidience vs. Generosity
3. Creativity, Intentionality, and Spontaneity

We have everything in our life because of God. Without God, we would have nothing.

Hope

Since Jeff and I have been together, we have explored many churches within our community, but we had not found one that we felt connected to. We decided to start off 2012 by finding a church that we enjoyed and that we felt connected to. Growing up, we both attended Catholic churches, but we decided to go begin attending a non-denominational church. We both felt that the Word of God, is the Word of God, regardless of whether it's a Catholic church or at a non-denominational church. 

This past Sunday was our first time going to Hope Fellowship and we really liked their mission:

           LOVE-to love God passionately

           CONNECT-to connect with others deeply

           GROW-to grow in faith consistently

           SERVE-to serve our world unselfishly

The current series scripture for the following four weeks is: "You are my friends if you do what I command." John 15:14

The message is Words with Friends. Yes, Words with Friends the same as that popular app that we all love. I love how they connected the two. 

This week the "word" was Committed and our commitment to God and others. 

We really like this church and we are committed to the Word of God and all that he stands for and we are looking forward to next weekend.
