Incredibly Blessed Nest: Mason-Week 12

Oh my sweet, handsome Mason Grey! This week was our last full week together because mommy has to go back to work next week. I have really been dreading this time, and it has come. 12 weeks with you went by to fast, but I am thankful that I got to spend all of this time with you...just you and me baby boy! It is definitely going to be tough to not see you all day long (just the thought of it brings tears to my eyes and causes this mommy so much anxiety). I know that you will be just fine in daycare and that you won't remember it, but it hurts my heart to know that I'm going to miss out on all of those special moments and milestones. These are special moments, and time, that I can NEVER.GET.BACK. Daddy and I have talked about me working part-time, but it just isn't feasible right now. There will be a time really soon when mommy will have to work part-time because of school. You, baby boy, are my motivation for continuing with school!

Here are the highlights of our week together:

We went out to eat a couple of times over the weekend, including once with some of your daddy's friends, Nick and Lucina. When she saw you she said you had gotten even bigger since she saw you last a few weeks ago. She also said that it looked like your eyes were getting lighter, and I agree. I can't quite figure out what color they are going to be, but your grandma seems to think they are going to be hazel. Guess we'll wait and see.
We went to Buy Buy Baby to get sweet little Adelyn a gift. You did fabulous and let mommy shop without you crying to get out of your carrier. You're doing much better with staying in your carrier when we go to stores.
We also went to visit mommy's good friend, Stefanie. She just had her sweet baby two weeks ago. She is so teeny-tiny and has so much hair. I thought it was funny that when she woke up and started crying, you started to whine.
We went out for a walk in your stroller without the carrier. Mommy decided to try the stroller with the regular seat. You didn't cry and you really seemed to like that you could see your surroundings. You're becoming very observant!
Your losing your baby hair from the top of your head and the back. You have a very distinct line on the back of your head from where you've lost hair...it kinda looks like we took scissors to it, but your still as handsome as ever!
Today was a rough day for you. I think you were right on time with your 3 month growth spurt. You wanted to nurse every 1-2 hours, and this was the only thing that would console you.
Mommy decided that it was time to start making you sleep in your crib...well at least your travel crib for now. You did well and slept from 9:00pm until 5:00am. You did squirm around a couple of times, but mommy only had to give you your pacifier and you settled and fell back asleep. We're going to be working on this because I know it's better for you than sleeping in your rock and play, besides eventually you'll outgrow your rock and play.
As of late, you'll nurse every 3 hours during the day. You usually go down to sleep between 9:00-10:00pm and sleep until between 4:30-6:00am. This weekend you slept one day until 6:00am and the next day until 7:00am. We're still working on getting you to sleep longer, but your slowly learning to like sleeping. Your nap times between feeds are short, only 30-45 minutes, but you usually take 2 of those short naps. Daddy says your just like him in that you don't like to sleep.
On another note, you smile all of the time and, I'll admit, it's pretty contagious! You have the best smile ever! You are more aware of the big odd thing (the phone) that is in front of you when mommy tries to take pictures of you. Before you used to not smile and just stare at it, but now you are starting to reach and grab for it.
